DRAFTING 2
Course description
In Architectural Drafting 2 you will focus on the principles and concepts of architectural design, and the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM), used in the field of architecture. An emphasis is placed on the use of 3D CAD tools in the design and execution of floor plans, foundation plans, wall sections, and elevation drawings.

Exercises
Students will work on exercises to improve on the skills that are being taught in class. The exercises may be answering questions pertaining to a certain topic, creating Revit drawings, or building scale models of structures designed in Revit.
Tests
Tests will be multiple choice, in a similar format to the end of course state final for Architectural Drafting 2. If you make below a C on a test, you have the option to retake the test within a week of the original test date outside of the normal class time (ie. lunch/after school).
Projects
This is a project based course. Students will be working toward a complete set of working drawings created using the Autodesk Revit program.
Cell Phone Policy
Students must keep their cell phones in the cell phone cubbie or out of sight (backpack/pocket) during class UNLESS specifically asked by Mrs. Crump to use their cell phone during class.
Course Schedule (approximately)
August 26 - August 30 : Understanding Architectural Styles and Industry Terms
September 3 - October 18 : Apply procedures to create Floor Plans.
October 21 - November 8 : Apply procedures to create Foundation Plans and Levels of a building.
November 12 - November 26 : Apply procedures to create Simple Roof and Floor System Designs.
December 2 - December 10 : Apply procedures for drawing View types.
December 11 - December 13 : Preparing for Revit Certification
December 16 & 18 : Revit Certification Test
January 6 - January 10 : Apply procedures to Complete a Residential Construction Documents (CD) Set.
